Bulutoğluları: Our aim is to give our public the opportunity to shop from our craftsmen.

The “2nd Taşkınköy Shopping Feast”, which is organized by  the Nicosia Turkish Municipality (NTM) and some sponsor companies, has been realized yesterday (Thursday, June 4th). Between the hours of 17:00 – 24:00 the Şehit Kemal Ünal Street, where many shops are, was blocked to traffic and the street became almost a feast area. Absolutely everybody  had great fun and did shopping benefitting from the discounted prices. The citizens, who watched the shows, prepared by the organization comittee,  enjoyed the music of the Nicosia Turkish Municipality’s Orchestra.

Bulutoğluları: “ Turkish Cypriot entrepreneurs are making investment in a heroic way to their country. We should support them.”

 In the feast, the Mayor of NTM Cemal Bulutoğluları denoted that the citizens of Nicosia deserve to be entertained while shopping and that the Nicosians demanded this festival from the Municipality on their own.

Bulutoğluları connoted that they organize these feasts in areas of high population where the demand on shopping is high as well. He highligthed that the aim of organizing these festivals is to encourage Turkish Cypriots to shop from their own craftsmen.

Stating that there isn’t any advantage to do shopping from the South, Bulutoğluları underlined that everyone should support each other in order to remove the problems in our country. Indicating that Turkish Cypriots keep on making investments to their country despite the economic crisis, Bulutoğluları stated that it is their duty to support them.

In the feast, tarrot, special promotions of the firms, firework displays, clowns, face paintings and balloons were among the elements which entertained the families who attended the feast.  Famous models of Turkey Tuğba Altıntop, Elif Ece Uzun, Vatan Şaşmaz, Pınar Taştepe, Irmak Atuk and Hakkı Demiröz participated in a fashion display on site and attracted huge attention from  the public.
