1- From the day the rains began, the Nicosia Turkish Municipality has taken all the necessary precautions and all efforts have been directed from the crisis center at the Municipality. Nicosia has been divided into districts and the teams, which have been formed for each district and lead by a technical staff intervening at the problems in their district. First the citizens who have been affected from the flood have been saved and then the teams tried to remove the damages on roads and buildings. The studies are still being continued. 

2- The 185 Municipal  hotline has never stopped serving. It received approximately 1000 complaints and the teams intervened at the complaints urgently. 

3- The teams have been formed and necessary water evacuations were made at the following districts:

  1-) Göçmenköy

 2-) Taşkınköy

 3-) Marmara

 4-) Ortaköy

 5-) Industrial Area

 6-) Hospital and its environment

4- The teams worked in the water beds in order to increase the flow of the water and they did cleaning works at the head of the bridges.

5- The senior and bedridden citizens have been evacuated by the teams from the Department of European Services for senior citizens.

6- The water flow was drawn with the sewage truck from the houses of people who were affected from the water flood.

7- Necessary precautions are taken against the 23 ruined and nearly ruined houses because of the flood.

8- The delivery of water with tanker is still continuing to the people who are in lack of water in the regions which are dameged from flood.

9- The blankets are delivered to the needy senior citizens by the unit of European Services to Senior Citizens.

10- The citizens, whose houses suffered damage and cannot be used, have been relodged to Saray Hotel. (25 family)

11. The loss assesment of the injured people has been made with the co-operation of the district.

 12.The evacuation of the properties that were damaged because of the flood has been started.

13.  The food problem of the families has been solved with the cooperation of the Turkish Red Crescent.

 14. The roads have been cleaned which were affected from water flood.

15.The collection of the garbages and wastes that occured because of the floods have been started.

16-   Loss assessment of pavements and roads that were damaged and collapsed because of the flood was made and precautions were taken. Furthermore, holes were started to be asphalted.

17-Spraying process was started in all areas.

18-Public Relations teams started to visit the citizens at the areas aggreived by the flood.

19-       The vehicles worked within the borders of the municipality during the flood:

A team of 300 people was supported by 40 personnel from the Municipality of Güzelyurt and vehicle assistance from the Municipalities of Paşaköy, İnönü, Serdarlı and Vadili.
