Beauties rebounded from Nicosia to the world.

NTM’s and Günkut Agency’s joint organization 2nd Miss Pearl of Europe 2009 has been realized last night (30th September 2009) and brought together 16 beautiful girls from 16 countries of Europe both with the world and Nicosians. Miss Pearl of Europe Beauty Contest, which has been realized at the back yard of the Nicosia City Hall, has been broadcast live from 2 national channels from 20:30 local time.

Sevilay Aydın represented our country at the beauty contest hosted by the Mayor of the Nicosia Turkish Municipality Cemal Bulutoğluları. DJ Bora cheered up the crowds with his music.

 

Bulutoğluları: My public deserves better things, I will continue to realize such activities. 

 

Upon the prompting of the live broadcast, the Mayor of NTM, Cemal Bulutoğluları welcomed the audience who watced from all around the world and stated that this event was published as news item even in south Cyprus.

Denoting that the beauty contest has attracted attention, Bulutoğluları, said that they are very happy to make a contribution to the presentation of the country. Highlighting that cultural and tourism works are important as much as politics for the presentation of the country, Bulutoğluları emphasized the need to improve such activities.  Indicating that the Turkish Cypriots deserve better things, Bulutoğluları stated that he will continue to implement such activities.

 

The winner is Miss Ukraine, First runner-up is Miss Serbia and Second  runner-up is Miss Northern Cyprus

As a result of the jury members’ decision, Miss Ukraine Mariya Liolia Kupchus became the “Winner” at the beauty contest “ Miss Pearl of Europe 2009”. The Mayor of the Nicosia Turkish Municipality and Miss Pearl of Europe 2008, Sonja Pecenica gave the tiara to Miss Ukraine. Miss Serbia İva Vurdelja became the first runner-up and Miss Northern Cyprus Sevilay Aydın becane the second runner-up. Serbia won the best national costume award and the girls decided themselves to choose Miss Netherlands, Jasmin Murray Velders,  as “ Miss  Friendship”. 

While the jury members were evaluating the contestants, one of the most popular singers of Turkey, Ferda Anıl Yarkın, and our local success Zeliş sang their songs. The dance group Cranberries performed a great dance show to the audience as well.
