Yesterday (03-12-08), the Mayor of the Nicosia Turkish Municipality, Cemal Bulutoğluları, met with Australia’s High Commissioner, Evan John Williams.

 The Mayor, Bulutoğluları, gave information to Mr.Williams about Cyprus problem, the projects and workings of the Municipality.

Bulutoğluları highlighted that Australia has great importance for Cyprus and said that “ We have a huge number of citizens who live in Australia and as a result Australia has a great importance for us.”

Mayor Bulutoğluları discussed the latest news on the progress about the Cyprus problem to Williams and denoted that the TRNC has always been helpful and determined about the solution of the Cyprus problem. Nevertheless, ‘’the Greek Government of Cyprus has always been an obstacle for the solution of Cyprus problem’’ he stated.

Mayor Bulutoğluları connoted that they are in a good relationship with the Nicosia Greek Municipality and that they cooperated in many important projects.

The Mayor also gave information about the Town Hall and said that with the construction of the Town Hall, all staff  and departments of the Nicosia Turkish Municipality found the opportunity to unite under the same roof after working under insufficient conditions for years. Mayor Bulutoğluları gave information about the population of Nicosia and the sources of revenue of the NTM.
Australia’s High Commissioner  Evan John Williams denoted that it is his first visit to the Nicosia Turkish Municipality and that he is glad to get together with Mayor Bulutoğluları. He also connoted that the Town Hall is a great building and congratulated the Mayor
