Head of the EU Representation in Cyprus Androulla Kaminara visited the areas affected from the flood disaster on  March 1st, 2010. Making on-site inspections in Göçmenköy, Marmara, Taşkınköy and Dr.Burhan Nalbantoğlu Central Hospital, Kaminara listened to the problems of the citizens.

Kaminara who was accompanied by the Mayor of the Nicosia Turkish Municipality, Cemal Bulutoğluları, specially went to the houses one by one and talked with the citizens.

Denoting that the citizens got over a big disaster, Kaminara highlighted that the only good side of this disaster is not having a loss of life, she wished the citizens who were affected from the flood to recover soon.

  Kaminara visited Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital which was severely damaged and got information from the hospital authorities about the damages. Kaminara stated that she is visiting to wish the citizens rapid recovery and to see the damaged areas herself. She added that first of all they will determine the size of the damage and later on they will search for help resources.

Stating that they will work with the Nicosia Turkish Municipality in cooperation about the possible EU aid, Kaminara added that they will be in contact with the Mayor Bulutoğluları.
